The HectoMAP Redshift Survey: First Data Release

چکیده

Abstract HectoMAP is a dense, red-selected redshift survey to limiting r = 21.3 mag covering 55 deg 2 in contiguous 1.°5 strip across the northern sky. This region also covered by Subaru/Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC) Subaru Strategic Program photometric enabling range of applications that combine dense foreground with both strong and weak lensing maps. The median exceeds 0.3 throughout region, mean density ?2000 galaxies ?2 . Here we report total 17,313 redshifts first data release 8.7 We include derived quantities D n 4000 stellar mass for nearly all objects. Among these galaxies, 8117 constitute 79% complete subsample ? 20.5 mag, an additional 4318 68% < (mag) 21.3. The SAMI Galaxy Survey: early data release and first science

The Sydney–AAO Multi-object Integral field spectrograph (SAMI) Galaxy Survey is an ongoing project to obtain spatially resolved spectroscopic observations of ∼3400 galaxies by mid-2016. To date, a total of ∼1000 galaxies have been observed, making the SAMI Galaxy Survey the largest integral field survey in existence. In July 2014 the early data release for the SAMI galaxy Survey occurred, with ...

A Galaxy Photometric Redshift Catalog for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 6

We present and describe a catalog of galaxy photometric redshifts (photo-z’s) for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 6 (DR6). We use the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) technique to calculate photo-z’s and the Nearest Neighbor Error (NNE) method to estimate photo-z errors for ∼ 77 million objects classified as galaxies in DR6 with r < 22. The photo-z and photo-z error estimators a...

First Results from the 2df Galaxy Redshift Survey

The 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey is a major new initiative to map a representative volume of the universe. The survey makes use of the 2dF multi-fibre spectrograph at the Anglo-Australian Telescope to measure redshifts for over 250,000 galaxies brighter than bJ=19.5 and a further 10,000 galaxies brighter than R=21. The main goals of the survey are to characterise the large-scale structure of the ...

No Periodicities in 2dF Redshift Survey Data

We have used the publicly available data from the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey and the 2dF QSO Redshift Survey to test the hypothesis that there is a periodicity in the redshift distribution of quasi-stellar objects (QSOs) found projected close to foreground galaxies. These data provide by far the largest and most homogeneous sample for such a study, yielding 1647 QSO–galaxy pairs. There is no ev...

Blast: the Redshift Survey

The Balloon-borne Large Aperture Submillimeter Telescope (BLAST) has recently surveyed ≃8.7 deg centered on GOODS-South at 250, 350 and 500 μm. In Dye et al. (2009) we presented the catalogue of sources detected at 5σ in at least one band in this field and the probable counterparts to these sources in other wavebands. In this paper, we present the results of a redshift survey in which we succee...
